Japan’s Online Safety Act, 2023

Japan’s Online Safety Act places obligations on online user to user services and search services to control and monitor the content published on their platforms. The main purpose of the Act is to require online services to take steps to keep the internet safe for children, and to give adults more choice over what they see online.
