Unveiling Digital Habits: Insights from the DIVSI U25 Study

The DIVSI U25 Study, conducted in collaboration with the SINUS Institute Heidelberg, provides a comprehensive analysis of digital behaviours among children, adolescents, and young adults. Released in 2015, it sheds light on the extensive integration of digital technologies into daily life, especially among individuals aged 9 to 24. The study underscores the pervasive use of the internet, highlighting the seamless blending of online and offline experiences enabled by smartphones and tablets. It reveals that younger users are particularly engaged in online gaming and social interactions, shaping distinct internet milieus based on lifeworlds and attitudes toward online trust and security. These insights are crucial for raising awareness among parents about social media skills and internet safety, as they navigate the complexities of digital environments with their children. The study aims to inform policies and promote digital literacy, addressing disparities in media consumption influenced by educational backgrounds and ensuring informed digital participation.
