Be internet awesome: empowering kids to navigate the digital world safely.

“Be Internet Awesome” is an initiative created through the collaboration of Google, the National Police, Fad, and the National Cybersecurity Institute of Spain (INCIBE). The project provides families and educators with resources to help children navigate the internet safely and responsibly. The centrepiece of the programme is Interland, an interactive game that teaches children essential digital skills through engaging gameplay. Designed for children aged 8 to 10, the game guides users through four mini-games that focus on smart online sharing, avoiding online traps, safeguarding personal information, practising kindness, and seeking help when in doubt. The project also includes resources for parents and educators, such as a Family Guide to promote digital safety discussions at home and a curriculum for primary school teachers to teach online safety and digital citizenship. Launched on Safer Internet Day, “Be Internet Awesome” is a comprehensive tool to cultivate responsible internet use among children.
