Promoting Cyber Security Literacy: The Impact of Project INDUCE

In today’s digital landscape, cyber security and privacy are paramount, necessitating effective skills and exercises to mitigate risks. Cyber exercises like table-top scenarios and technical simulations are crucial for enhancing awareness and technical capabilities in information security. However, participation in these exercises remains limited, particularly among underrepresented groups such as women.
Project INDUCE (Cyber Security Literacy And Dexterity through Cyber Exercises) aims to bridge these gaps by evaluating and adapting cyber exercises for diverse demographics, including gender and social backgrounds, thereby fostering inclusivity. By developing new scenarios, algorithms, and technologies, INDUCE promotes cyber literacy across various sectors through interdisciplinary collaboration.
Key components of INDUCE include enhancing exercise accessibility, creating scenarios sensitive to diversity, and establishing an innovation network. Future Labs will implement and evaluate these initiatives to empower a broader audience to understand and manage digital challenges effectively.
Ultimately, INDUCE seeks to build long-term cyber security competence, enabling diverse populations, including parents, to navigate the complexities of social media skills and internet safety in today’s digital world.
