Promoting Internet use and safety for parents

The Portuguese Directorate-General for Education promotes the Digital Academy for Parents project in partnership with the company E-Redes. This project provides training courses aimed at parents of primary school pupils. The training programmes are intended to enable parents and guardians to acquire various digital competences skills considered essential. This programme began in 2021 and is currently in its fourth edition and aims to sensitise and instruct parents and guardians in the adoption of online behaviours that result in better and safer use of the Internet. The workshops are organised during after-school hours and last 8 hours. 2 members of each student’s household can take part. The project is developed in 203 schools and has the support of University of Aveiro and SeguraNet Awareness Centre.
