Safer Internet Day 2025: Promoting Safe and Responsible Internet Use

Safer Internet Day, celebrated globally on February 11th and organised by the European Commission, promotes a safer online environment and boosts digital literacy, especially among children and youth. With the theme “Together for a better internet,” this event engages participants in workshops, sessions, and awareness campaigns about internet safety. It urges institutions, businesses, and individuals to contribute to a safer digital space, highlighted on social media with #SID2025AT. Extending the effort, Safer Internet Month involves schools and youth organisations throughout February, offering educational materials, age-specific workshops, and over 30 multilingual online quizzes to enhance digital awareness. This initiative is crucial for raising parental awareness about social media skills and internet safety, providing them with the tools and knowledge to guide their children responsibly in the digital age. By participating, parents can better understand the digital landscape, protect their children from online risks, and promote positive online behaviours.
